I know I've been a total trash mod, but luckily you folks are blessedly low on the wank, so that's been fantastic.
Anyway, I've been out of the JM loop for awhile (jeesh, I remember when I was happy this comm had six members, then again, I also remember the long-ago days when I opened the first Gerard Butler community and it had 3 members besides me for, like, YEARS. Oh the nostalgia. BUT ANYWHO.), and just a couple of days ago I picked up "The Dark Mirror", the first of the Bridei Chronicles.
And I inhaled it. Read most of it this afternoon, in fact.
Seeings as I'm not going to get a chance to pick up the others til next weekend, what did folks think of it? I, for one, loved it. I adored the subtler character development of Bridei and I loved that Ferada surprised me. Plus I'm a geek for "Welsh" history, so huzzah for Mariller not calling it Wales but referring to the two kingdoms of the north (Gwenydd) and the south (Powys).
It's about time I reread the Sevenwaters trilogy so I could check out what came after the trilogy as well... |
